“Research is formalized curiosity; it is poking and prying with a purpose.”
– Zora Neale Hurston
My research sits at the intersection of community and urban sociology, demography, and political economy. I focus on spatial and structural inequalities and am especially interested in how place-based disparities shape demographic outcomes like mortality and intergenerational mobility. I use a mix of quantitative and computational methods to understand how structural processes and local contexts interact over time.
I am currently a PhD student in Community and Environmental Sociology at University of Wisconsin-Madison and a trainee in the Center for Demography and Ecology.
